Some states and territories have received their interim allocations for opening skilled migration program. On the 10th of August, the Australian Capital Territory, ACT, announced their interim allocations for 2023. The skilled nomination visa 190 has 800 places, and the skilled work regional visa 491 has 1920 places. The ACT has published its critical skilled list for the program year.
Similarly, Tasmania has announced that its skilled nomination program is open. For the first quarter, Tasmania has a total of 3350 places for allocation. It’s interesting to note that Tasmania had only a total of 3300 places for 2022. Tasmania now has more permanent allocations with 2000 places for the 190 visa while the 491 has 1350 places.
As for Victoria, they haven’t yet announced the interim allocation number they have received. But they are opening their skilled migration program. Perhaps the best news is that all occupations on the Department of Home Affairs occupation list are eligible to apply. Working in the stem skills or target sectors is no longer required.
There are simple skilled employment requirements for 190 & 491 and offshore applicants can now apply for Victoria. For more information and learn how to apply contact us and get a free consultation.
